Five Questions

Mom Grind asked five questions of her readers. I thought they were pretty funny... I am answering them here for my sons to get a laugh out of it in the future...

1. Toothpaste - do you squeeze the tube from the bottom or from the top? bottom

2. Morning person or a night owl? Morning person - though the boys are making it a little rough.. 6am ok, 5:20am... not so ok.

3. Sweet tooth or not really? Sweet tooth. Chocolate and sugar mixed... yep... sweet!

4. Can you carry a tune? No. My mom, sisters, children... have asked me not to sing.

5. Do you have a favorite color? If you do, is it REALLY your favorite color or did you feel compelled to choose one because people ask this question so frequently? My favorite color changes with my mood.

Ok, go ahead, give it a try. Answer the questions. ;-)

Meme'd AGAIN

Seems that Dave meme'd me. Here are the rules:

The meme has the following rules:

1 – Write the title to your own memoir using exactly six words.

2 – Post it on your blog.

3 – Link to the person who tagged you.

4 – Tag five other bloggers.

Guess the title to my memoirs would be:

I would do it all again!

Tag five others? I see Dave got some I had planned on getting at my next chance... so who shall I use now?

1. Sticks
2. Jennifer
3. guyK
4. George
5. That1Guy

Can't wait to see what the would make the title of their memoirs!

Five little piggies? Nope, just a meme

I was tagged by Bou with a... meme.

The rules:
1. Post the rules of the game at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read the player’s blog.
4. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

What were you doing five years ago?

My life was a blur back then... I was pregnant and Tater was 11 months old. My best guess is I was changing diapers, feeding and trying to get some rest.

What are five things on your to-do list for today?

1) Go to the Chiropractor
2) Get food from the grocery store
3) Pick up medicine at CVS
4) Work with the boys on Father's day gift.
5) Possible playdate to go swimming if it doesn't rain

What are five snacks you enjoy?

1) Chocolate
2) Tostitos
3) Carrots and ranch dressing
4) Apples with salt on them
5) Bananas

What are five things you would do if you were a billionaire?

1) Invest in Retirement for hubby and myself
2) Put away college money for the boys
3) Pay off all our debts
4) Buy/Pay off cars, houses for my two siblings, my hubby's two siblings, and both sets of parents
5) Give to some charities that I like

What are five of your bad habits?

1) Not dressing nicely... shorts with holes in them and the like if it is comfortable
2) Eating when I'm not hungry (yep, that is why I'm overweight)
3) Making excuses for not exercising.
4) Doing stuff I like (working in the yard) rather than things that need to get done (laundry). Ohhh it gets done eventually... but I know better than putting it off...
5) Being to lax with my children because I hate punishing them...

What are five places where you have lived?

1) Munich, Germany
2) Arkansas
3) Illinois
4) Pensacola, Florida
5) Guam

What are five jobs you’ve had?

1) Horsebackriding instructor
2) RadioShack PC Repairman
3) Programmer
4) Network engineer
5) Mom

Wow.... who to tag???? Looks like most everyone has been tagged... and being I'm so late at getting this done... Well, I'll send some emails and see if I just missed reading the memes at their sites and if they haven't done it and want to... I'll add them to this post!!!

Schmoozeville

Tag'd... I was tag'd!!! And it couldn't have been by a more schmooz-er-ific person... Pamibe. She saves any animal (what a softie), and keeps up with current affairs while making me laugh. And the best part??? She thought I was Schmoozable. GRIN

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Schmoozing isn?t schmoozing unless you do it with others. I must pass this on to other self-absorbed, narcissistic, attention craving bloggers?but you know I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Hmmmm... self-absorbed, narcissistic, attention craving bloggers... hmmmm.... ok, how about the following:

AWTM? She has beautiful schmoochie children and wonderful experiences with them... wait that doesn't fit the bill for self-absorbed, narcissistic and attention craving...

Ohh... Boudicca! I just saw it on TV the other night... Seems that she should fit the bill... but then again, anyone that has children that purposely eat food to have stinky farts and finds it hilarious how it 'backfired'... can't be self-absorbed, narcissistic and attention craving... not with three boys.

Nope... let's try again... ahhh... Contagion! Darn... he is willing to make a fool of himself in front of the whole blog world... guess that means he is not very narcissistic... sigh.

How about Dazd? He's got commenters looking for weird science items. He has really interesting Caption Contests. Doesn't seem to be self-absorbed... geeze.

I give up. I enjoy schmoozing those that I read... but I give up after those 4. I just don't think I'm going to find any self-absorbed, narcissistic, attention craving bloggers in my blog roll. Just lots of good reading. Tag... your you're it.

Wow, Another Child Answers

Seems my 'adult' children are just full of surprises. Matthew has answered the meme as well! In fact, I loved this one:

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
Honey Nut Cheerios

In our house, those are known as Daddy Os. So much so, that I put that on the grocery list I give to my hubby. I love it when one of the kids see the commercial and say something about Daddy Os. Must be a male thing. GRIN

Go on over and take a peak. He put his in pages about himself, so no commenting available. But you can always send an email or comment on one of his other posts. Enjoy!

She Did It!

Some days even my 'adult' children surprise me. Sticks actually got the meme done in record time. Go take a peak and give her a hard time.

Movie Meme

Thanks to Tink and Bou, I have to come up with 10 of my favorite movies. The worse part? I stink at remembering Movie names. I'll probably have to ask hubby what the name of the movies I like by giving him the plot. It will be entertaining to see who gets any of them right.

Wow. I was surprised at some of the Plot keywords. I think I will have some very interesting hits this week. And very disappointed they didn't have plot keywords for "VeggieTales, Lord of the Beans". Nope, it's not listed below... sigh...

UPDATE: Looking in the comments, I have decided to update the list and put italics to mean you are close, and bold to mean you got it!

1. British / British Film / No Ending / Severed Leg / Corporeal Mortification
2. Violence / Weapon / Golden Gun / England / Espionage

Looks like just about everyone has been tagged. The only person I can be pretty sure hasn't been tagged ... and I'm going to tag him... is Ogre. **snicker** He has been doing meme's just about weekly, so NO Complaining and Whining that you don't do memes. GRIN. If there is anyone else out there that hasn't been tag'd, please do so and just let me know. That way I can link to you when you are done.

Can't Resist

With so many memes in this blog-o-sphere... I couldn't resist this one that I found over at MaryBeth's.... There is something about someone begging in the name of science or math that I can't resist...

I could've completed this little experiment without revealing its existence. Since I lack foresight, I'm stuck announcing my intentions and begging participation. Here's what I need you to do:

1. Write a post linking to this one in which you explain the experiment. (All blogs count, be they TypePad, Blogger, MySpace, Facebook, &c.)
2. Ask your readers to do the same. Beg them. Relate sob stories about poor graduate students in desperate circumstances. Imply I'm one of them. (Do whatever you have to. If that fails, try whatever it takes.)
3. Ping Technorati.

Oh yaa... here's my PING Acephalous.

Go ahead... make a post and help spread this through the blog-o-sphere... I'll be interested to see the results.

7 Songs

Now that I have ensconced myself into Mom's blog... I will answer the meme that Aunt Tink sent over... 7 songs...

Here are the 'guidelines' that I saw: "List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your blog along with your seven songs."

1. Old McDonald
2. Twinkle twinkle little star
3. Baby Einstein Beethoven (the whole tape)
4. Trot Ol' Joe
5. Little Einstein Theme Song
6. Happy Birthday
7. The A says 'Ahhh', alphabet song from 'The Word Factory'

And if you have any other songs that might make my mom cringe, just let me know. I'm a quick learner.

Oh... if anyone else wants to give this meme a try, just let me know in the comments.

Books and Mom

My blogmother tag'd me with a meme. I was tempted to have Tater or Tot do this meme but didn't have enough time... you are stuck learning about me.

1) A book that changed my life:

There are books that have changed my life but I can't remember their names... ohh... I do remember the name of one... the Bible.

2) A book I've read more than once:

Any Agatha Christie, Isaac Asimov, or Rex Stout (Nero Wolfe series)

3) A book I'd take to a desert island:

If it was just for a vacation, then any good fiction book. If I was stuck there for a while, a book on how to survive on a desert island.

4) A book that made me laugh:

101 Elephant Jokes

5) A book that made me cry:

Hmmm. Not any that I can remember. I have cried reading a book, but it is usually because it reminds me of something else and I quit reading it for a while. Once I get over the memory, I can read the book and not cry.

6) A book I wish had been written:

How to Survive with 2 Boys born 15 months Apart and only 3 hours a sleep a night.

7) A book that should never have been written:

There are some children's books I would rather not have been written after the 100th time I read them out loud... but one book? Naahh.

8) A book I'm currently reading:

Out of the Shadows by Kay Hooper

9) A book I'm planning to read:

Another Kay Hooper book

10) Five people I'll send these questions on to: Sticks (because she is out of town), Ogre (just because), Oddybobo (just so she'll post something...), Donna (because I have never given her a meme) and Rave (because she did a meme).

Meme, Mimi, Momo, Mumu

Found this first at Jennifer's... then saw that Jenny played along... I decided to give it a shot. If you wish to find out more about what I picked... click on the word Wikipedia in the first rule.

Rules:
1. Go to Wikipedia.
2. In the Search box, type your birth month and day (but not year).
3. List three events that happened on your birthday.
4. List two important birthdays and one interesting death.
5. One holiday or observance (if any).

three events

  1. 1693 - Date traditionally ascribed to Dom Perignon's invention of Champagne.

  2. 1782 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is married to Constanze Weber.

Seaver pitches the White Sox to a 4–1 six-hit victory on Phil Rizzuto Day at Yankee Stadium as 54,032 New Yorkers cheer him on, while Carew bloops a single to left off Frank Viola in the 3rd inning of the Angels 6–5 win over the Twins. It marks the only day in which two men reach these two milestones on the same day.

two important birthdays

  1. 1805 - William Rowan Hamilton, Irish mathematician (d. 1865)

  2. 1900 - Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, Queen Mother of the United Kingdom (d. 2002)
