About this blog: It will mainly be about my two sons, Tater (the elder) and Tot (the younger), along with other miscellaneous items as I see fit. Come along and enjoy the insane yet fun trip of watching two young boys slowly drive their mother over the edge.

Happy is in Heaven
The cancer had spread to his spinal cord. He was shutting down slowly but surely and the pain killers were not working that well last night. It was time. I will not be posting or commenting or returning emails for a couple of days.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and they are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are so happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together each day, but then the day comes when one suddenly stops and peers into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
YOU have been spotted, and when you finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved soft head, and you finally get to look once again into the loving eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Oh, so sorry to hear this VW... the loss of any loved one, no matter whether it's a family pet or a spouse or child or an old friend, is a trauma. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. <3
He'll be with St Francis now and waiting when you all join him one day. And if you seek his monument - look at all the things he's taught you and your boys while you've had him.
He was such a good dog and had such a good life. All dogs should have been so lucky as to have been as loved as he was and all families should be so lucky to have had a dog like Happy in their lives. I'm going to miss that big ol' goof.
Awww crap. I hate hearing stuff like this, few things are harder than losing a beloved family pet. My heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. Give your boys plenty of hugs, they'll need them, and save some for yourself.
I am so sorry VW..I know it is no consolation but I always try to remember the words of the bard.."It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all."
Sincerest condolences...I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. My heart truly pains for all of you...he was so lucky to have found a such a happy life with a family as wonderful as yours.
I have been sending emails to everyone separately, but if I forgot you... please forgive me. It has been difficult. I must say, it feels good to have so many people care. It certainly helps. Thank you.
People like keeping pets. Some do for fun, some for company but one has to maintain it and keep it healthy. The better you treat it, the good the relationship. Mostly, these people are students who got assignments and time keep catching up. Maybe you are about to submit your report but you are not yet through. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.
