Claim To Fame?

Just got a note from Sticks.

Did you see this at Harvey's site? It ranks the popularity of your name by year. In the 1960's you were 69. What a claim to fame!

Made the Call

Yes I did call Bou and tell her the chocolates were 50% off. Including the 2 foot tall DARK chocolate bunny. It was still there. And if it is still there when they go 75% off... she is in big trouble. GRIN.

Good thing they had some stuff left.. I was getting ready to raid my hubby's basket. Even if it was that 'milk chocolate' stuff. ;-)

Lazy? Moi?

Ok... it has been a fun time but busy time. And by the time the evening rolls around, I'm beat. Not much posting getting done. My sister, Tink, was nice enough to send me this picture:

That's right. That's my mom trying to help her GreatGrandson B get a kite in the air. Wish I just could have been there to enjoy watching it as much as I have enjoyed this picture.

More later! Well... as soon as I can get enough time to upload the pictures and write the stories. This week we are off to Busch Wildlife, the Science Museum and more. If I can just take a breath and write about it all..

Chocolate

If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in hot car. The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and You'll eat less.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?

If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with YOu?

If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?

Money talks. Chocolate sings.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

Q. Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous?
A. Because no one wants to quit.

If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.

The Easter Party

We have been busy the last couple of days... From Easter Parties to egg hunting to the beach and cleaning house. Insane. At the Easter Party on Thursday, they had a clown / magician / face painter. Tater decided for the first time ever to get his face painted. (Click to enlarge)

Beach Time

M went to the beach for 3 hours yesterday. We talked again about keeping suntan lotion on your body. And I must say I was happy when I saw her and she didn't look burned. Phew. Then we went for a walk last night... uhhhh... right behind her knees was burned. Both legs.

Could have been worse! Glad she is getting that tan she wants. Nothing like going back to school and having a great tan to show off. Particularly when you just turn 16.

Lion Country Safari Pictures

Finally got the photos uploaded from our trip. There are a total of 19 pictures. Be sure to read the sign in the Lion picture. I hope you enjoy the zebra picture. There were too many times when we got stopped by animals crossing the road... at least the rhino didn't go after us! And yes, that is me with the boys at the alligator picture. M was never able to get all of us looking up at one time.

Never tried the 'Flipbook' option of ImageShack before (it will randomly select 5 pictures and let you see them... changes everytime you come to the site)... let me know what you think:

And while I'm at it, I have never tried the 'slideshow' option of ImageShack before... so let me know what you think about this one as well:

It wouldn't let me put all the pictures in the same one easily... so here are the rest of the pictures:

Busy? Us?

Even Happy dog is worn out!

= = = = =

From Lion Country Safari to Dr appointments to school to music to the mall to making cupcakes and the list just keeps going. Today is Dr. appt, breakfast with Bou, Easter Party, phone store and... hmmm... I forgot something.

I have some great pictures to post soon. Just not enough time in the day to get it done.

A quick story about Tater. When we were leaving the mall, he asked M to carry him because he was tired. She said ok, and picked him up. It started to sprinkle as we were walking to the car, so Tater put his hands over her head to protect her like an umbrella. And then he wanted to open her door for her. What a good boy he is getting to be!

Humor for Dreaded Wednesday

A young woman in New York was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the East River.

She went down to the docks and was about to leap into the frigid water when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering on the edge of the pier, crying. He took pity on her and said, "Look, you have so much to live for. I'm off to Hawaii in the morning, and if you like, I can stow you away on my ship. I'll take good care of you and bring you food every day."

Moving closer, he slipped his arm around her shoulder and added, "I'll keep you happy, and in return, you'll keep me happy."

The girl nodded yes. After all, what did she have to lose? Perhaps a fresh start in Hawaii would give her life new meaning. That night, the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a lifeboat. From then on, every night he brought her three sandwiches and a piece of fruit, and they made passionate love until dawn.

Three weeks later, during a routine inspection, she was discovered by the Captain. "What are you doing here?" the Captain asked.

"I have an arrangement with one of the sailors,"she explained. "I get food and a trip to Hawaii, and he's screwing me."

"He certainly is," the Captain said. "This is the Staten Island Ferry."
