Crayons and the Fridge

There is a valuable lesson in this post. Keep reading...

This is what happens when you go to the bathroom while your child finds a crayon.

Ready for the lesson? 409 does NOT remove crayon from the Fridge. In fact, I had to use Dawn Dish Liquid, Water and Muscle to get it off. Anyone have a better way? I feel this is going to happen again.

Did you try WD-40? An excerpt from an e-mail YOU sent me, "*WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag." Maybe it works for refridgerators, too." If not, put a frame around it and call it artwork.

Funny, all I remember from that email, is you should spray it on your bait. That fish love it. I'll try the WD-40 next time! I always have some on hand.

Oh yes.. I have a much better way! MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER!!! It will take crayon off of ANYTHING! It also takes of permanent magic marker off of my wooden kitchen table ( however it did dull it a bit) It took off bingo dabber ink off of the walls, it takes unknown scuff marks off of the floors, walls everywhere! It's magic I tell ya!

If it's any consolation, and it won't be, Tara was still drawing on stuff when she was four :-(

When we lived in a rented house, I was terrified she would wreck it, so I banned all writing implements. I remember her asking a somewhat startled Santa for "pens and penshuls" that Christmas!

How about isopropyl alcohol? Crayons are wax, so any reasonable organic solvent (alcohols, nail polish remover, etc.) should take it off in a pinch, but I don't know what npr would do to the finish on the front of the fridge.... applying it and wiping quickly with water should be ok.

But those magic erasers are AWESOME. They'll get about anything off the wall. ANYTHING...

Bones or Son#2 used red pen once. We had to repaint the wall.

Yeah, at that age, all kids went to the bathroom with me lest I come back into the family room to find someone got down from lunch and ground their slice of American Cheese into my burber carpet. Loved that.

Lighter fluid take crayon off most anything. The added advantage is that while we are scrubbing we can fantasize about setting the little monster on fire.

Just bought some of those Magic Erasers... no occasion to use them yet, but I'm poised and ready!! Reading your blog is like reading my future, so I'm prepared...

Oh, hey... have you tried Avon Skin-so-soft? Works on so many things!

Try Goof-Off...It can remove nearly anything! Paint, tar, lipstick..that sticky stuff that stickers leave on various things..all sorts of stuff. Can't live without it!

My mom swears that lemon extract takes care of most, if not all the same things. *shrugs*

Did you try urine? Oh wait, that was for batteries...

Magic Erasers should take that right off. They took haircolor off my bathtub..
