Liquid Nitrogen and a great site

It’s not very often that I can go ‘surfing’ outside a few sites. But tonight I needed a break and went out wandering around. I found this new blog that is being added to my list:

BrainHop – daily offbeat news stories from around the world

Why? Because I went to the link they had on 1001 things to do with Liquid Nitrogen and just about LMAO. They had some other stuff, but I didn’t have time to really go to far. I will be visiting them again soon!

People like me should not be exposed to ideas like that.

... without a link to a retail source for liquid Nitrogen ;-)

"Get a pot of boiling water and pour some nitrogen in it. You will watch the mists of hell shrouding the floor. It's good fun to test how long you can stand sticking a finger into it - a cool feeling ..."

Ok, yeah, but NEVER try doing the opposite; throwing hot water in a container of liquid nitrogen. It doesn't result in an explosion, but water, ice, and nitrogen go flying everywhere. I swear that I could have cracked my pants immediately after some idiot (who shall remain nameless) tried this.

Harvey: My only request is you take pictures and post them. This ought to be interesting. Just for you, I did a quick search. What scared me was what was on ebay... go look for yourself. But some other places:

Or someone suggested: You can buy liquid nitrogen through welding supply shops. Look in the Yellow Pages under "welding supplies" or "welding equipment and supplies".

heh reminds me of college. Maybe I'll post on this later. let's just say that Techers can get LN2 at cost on campus. They'll even charge it to your student account. At least, they would when I was there.....

Thank you for your post.it is a nice post. Liquid nitrogen should in no way be part of any liquid diet! Just touching it without protective gloves or clothing will cause a severe case of frostbite. Swallowing it is unthinkable, though some people do use it to make ice cream and other frozen desserts.
