Went to breakfast with Bou this morning and talked about potty training. I know, I know, not exactly what you normally talk about when eating but when you have kids, all sorts of subjects will come up when eating.
My #1 Son took a step backwards in wanting to go potty – as in he stopped asking and never said yes when I asked. So she gave me a hint. Put red food coloring in the toilet water and tell him if he P’s in it, it will turn orange. Guess what… it worked. I tried it once that morning and 3 more times he came to me and asked to go potty. We used Blue once and Red two more times.
And one of the added blessings is that he now makes sure he P’s in the potty… wouldn’t want it to go anywhere else, might not change colors if it does. Thanks Bou for a wonderful idea!

It does stink. There is such a fine line between encouraging them and having them WANT to do it and it turning into an awful battle.
I'll keep thinking of more tricks!
Hi Jack, tried to post yesterday but blogger and I didn't get along. I don't see why it wouldn't work for girls. Particularly since my boy is sitting on the toilet, not standing. Having not potty trained a girl, I really don't know. There are some young girls I see in his class I can't imagine p'ing in colored water just because they are always 'dressed up' in frilly stuff. GRIN.
