Weeding Adventures

Always entertaining when I decided to weed in my yard...

Nope, do not know what kind of snake that is... but I do have a lot of these little frogs around the house. This one scared me as I was weeding around the tree and he was at face level. Phew. Glad he didn't jump.

How can you weed; it's gotta be 120 in the shade! Or is that the humidity?? ;)

Looks like a very common black racer, which is harmless. We had scads of them in central Florida, I got used to seeing Zoe play with 'em. :D

It is definitely hot, but the weeds were going to take over the whole yard and house if I didn't do something.

Glad to hear it is harmless.

yep, looks like a black snake. They don't bother me but will startle me when I reach down to pick something up and they take off..I have at least one living under my workshop along with some Armadillos, a possum, and a pair of rabbits..the snake make be keeping the rabbit population down..just wish it would eat armadillos

Definitely a black racer. Don't scare it off! They eat the food that the bad snakes like, and of course, keep bad snakes and said food (rodents, etc) away from the house.

I respect snakes and what they do...but I will kill them too. We've had copperheads, water moccasins, and coral snakes on our property. They didn't leave alive (I have four kids and some pets to protect). The moccasin was almost as big around as my forearm...

Just be glad your frog doesn't like to pounce on the skylight at 4 a.m. Wait you don't have a skylight, I do. I'm going to kill that frog, if Pan doesn't get to him first. Couldn't see the picture of the snake so couldn't offer any suggestions.
