How Long Do Boiled Eggs Last?

I should not admit this on my blog... but I just ate a 2 day old Boiled egg and THEN thought about the consequences. Anyone know how long a boiled egg will last in 78degrees or cooler?

Since I'm not sick - yet... I'm guessing 2 days is acceptable. But I am curious as to the real answer. Any one?

I am not sure if the above link will work, but, quoting from the cached web page above.

"Food Safety Archives (Canada)"

Throw away any hard-boiled eggs if the refrigerator temperature has risen above 40 degrees for over two hours.

I also found this:

I really hope you are ok. Sometimes it takes about
12 hours for salmonella to show itself. I am not trying to worry you, just want you to be ok.

Salmonella usually manifests in about an hour but can take up to 12. If the egg was in the fridge, you're probably ok....

I think the big danger will be to others who are in the room soon. Their oxygen supply will very likely be seriously threatened.

Mom used to hide hard boiled eggs outside at Easter. They would be out there all night and then we would eat them in the morning. We survived.

I think you should be OK. But let me know if you're not- Easter is coming!

we used to keep them for three or four days and as long as they didn't smell bad we ate them. But I will warn you that two day old boiled eggs and a couple of beers will keep the vampires away with the odor. Also keep every one else away.

Oh no! You don't have to poison yourself!!!!

Oh, you're okay?? Oh good. Whew. I was afraid there for a minute that the sleep deprivation had finally tipped you over the edge... ;)

I would think a couple day old hard boiled egg would be fine as the "egg" component that would make you sick should have been cooked away. Raw eggs have the samahoweveritsspelled cooked away.

When we were smaller we would dye eggs and leave them out on the table for a couple days and never had any problems.
