About this blog: It will mainly be about my two sons, Tater (the elder) and Tot (the younger), along with other miscellaneous items as I see fit. Come along and enjoy the insane yet fun trip of watching two young boys slowly drive their mother over the edge.

Breakfast Anyone?
This is getting out of hand. Tot had 2 bowls of oatmeal, one scrambled egg (ate most of it), a piece of toast (ate half)and drank milk. Tater ate one bowl of oatmeal, two scrambled eggs, a piece of toast and one waffle and milk. Please tell me that they won't be eating that much more when they get older. I'll be selling the house just to buy food.
Tater The Elf
I made an Elf out of Tater HERE. And he loved it. In fact, he had me play it over and over and over again. After the third or fourth time, he started dancing with it. Very funny. Here are some blurry but cute pictures of him trying to do 'the moves'.

Green Thumb
Mom is n.o.t. the one with the green thumb in this family. Tater is. But plants seem to survive despite me. Weeds love me. In fact, I had to weed a spot for Tater's latest plant. And here it is:

= = = =
While doing this, I discovered there was a tomato plant growing in the garden. It is laying on the ground and happy as can be. In fact it has three tomatoes. Here it is:

= = = = =
Need to get those tomatoes off the ground, but don't know how without killing the plant. Ought to be interesting.

Fun Game for Christmas **UPDATE**
Seems everyone is getting on the bandwagon and giving T1G a hard time for wanting a gun for Christmas. First Bou and friends come up with this bunny picture and then this one. And it doesn't end there. The perfect gift was found! And it is a blast to play.
UPDATE: After seeing this 'whining' that sounds just like my boys... I decided he needed to see what the 'family' could have done.
THIS SHOULD DO IT.
Side note: I orginally found how to do this at Letter's From New York City.

Grocery Stores and Maggots
Learning how to decifer what your son is saying is one of the those experiences you wish you didn't have to do. Like the other day in the car. We had just dropped Tater off at preschool and it was just Tot and I. Off to the grocery store we go. On the way Tot said he wanted to "go to ToysRus". Nope, we are going to the grocery store to buy bananas, chicken, onions and the like.
Tot: I want maggots.
Mom: Maggots????
Tot: Maggots.
Mom: Do you mean magic? Like in tricks?
Tot: No, maggots.
Mom: Ok, do you mean bugs?
Tot: No mom
Mom: Maggots, maggots... how about magnets? Things that stick together?
Tot: Yes! Maggots.
Mom: I'm not sure they have mag-nets at the grocery store, we can look.
But that first picture in my mind of maggots and grocery sure did make it harder to figure out what he was saying. Sigh.

Winter Wonder Land
Yesterday I was talking to AWTM on the phone and telling her how worried I was about my boys getting cold. I had just put short sleeve shirts on them with jeans. It had dropped to 62F with rain and 30mph gusts of wind. Yaaa... you read that right, 62F. She cracked up laughing. Then proceeded to tell me it was in the high 30s there. Uhhhh. Ok, that is cold. And to add to it, she had me laughing again when I saw THIS POST. Geeze, you just can't complain around here without someone making you laugh.

Back In The Saddle Again
They finally got my phone line back together. Posted some stuff and hope to get myself back in the saddle again and get more stories together.
What Happen to My Boys?
For the first time... Tater looks very much like a Boy and not so angelic. Tot finally has all his hair cut straight. Someone tell me when do they stop growing up? I miss my little ones.

= = = = =
What cuties:

= = = = =
What didn't get mentioned before was the nightmare that occurred when getting Tot's hair cut. He sat great for the buzz. Then she pulled out the scissors. My quiet child went ballistic. I had to hold him in his seat with his arms pinned. There was n.o. w.a.y. I was going to pay $18 for half a hair cut. What a nightmare. How she got it even decent is beyond me. As more pictures are taken you will get to see it. A little shorter than I would have liked it, but still cute.

Where Is Guy's Garden When I Need It?
Tater brought this plant home from school:

Here's a closer look:

I killed of everything in the garden I created. I dread planting this healthy, happy plant in my yard. Where is Guy's Garden when I need it??? Yaa, it may be in the same state, but it is too far away.

Off-line
I got a call from VW today saying she is offline. Her phone is down, her internet... essentially she is in the communication black hole, with the exception of her cell phone.
She expects it will be back up tomorrow night and asked me to put a quick post up giving y'all the data.
Fingers crossed that the yahoos get it fixed ASAP.

The Many Faces of Tater
I had the camera out and Tater saw it. He decided he wanted to have his picture taken making different faces. How could I refuse? You can guess what they are suppose to represent.

Laugh Out Loud
Some things just hit my funny bone and THIS POST over at House of Zathras did it for me. Enjoy!
Some Assistance Please
Tink was silly enough to leave me the keys to her place. And access to e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. Now exactly what should I do to her blog? Decorate? I have been trying to find some gifs or other items to place as her background. But there is a ton of stuff out there and I'm having a hard time choosing. Come on... give me some ideas!

More Humor for Dreaded Wednesday
'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house
I searched for the tools to hand to my spouse.
Instructions were studied and we were inspired,
In hopes we could manage "Some Assembly Required."
The children were quiet in their beds,
While Dad and I faced the evening with dread:
In the kitchen, two bikes, Barbie's town house to boot!
And, thanks to Grandpa, a train with a toot!
We opened the boxes, my heart skipped a beat....
Let no pieces be missing or parts incomplete!
Too late for last-minute returns or replacement;
If we can't get it right, it goes down in the basement!
When what to my worrying eyes should appear,
But 50 sheets of directions, concise, but not clear,
With each part numbered and every slot named,
So if there were failure, only we could be blamed.
More rapid than eagles the parts then fell out,
All over the flour they were scattered about.
"Now bolt it! Now twist it! Attach it right there!
Slide on the seats, where the metal is bare!
Hammer the shelves, and nail to the stand."
"Honey," said hubby, "you just glued my hand."
And then in a twinkling, I knew for a fact
That all the toy dealers had indeed made a pact
To keep parents busy all Christmas Eve night
With "assembly required" till morning's first light.
We spoke not a word, but kept bent at our work,
Till our eyes, they went bleary; our fingers all hurt.
The coffee went cold and the night it wore thin
Before we attached the last rod and last pin.
Then laying the tools away in the chest,
We fell into bed for a well-deserved rest.
But I said to my husband just before I passed out,
"This will be the best Christmas, without any doubt.
Tomorrow we'll cheer, let the holiday ring,
And not have to run to the store for a thing!
"We did it! We did it! The toys are all set
For the perfect, most perfectest Christmas, I bet!"
Then off to dreamland, at last sweet repose
I gratefully went, although I suppose
There's something to say for those self-deluded
I'd forgotten that BATTERIES are never included!

What's That Noise?
That phrase happens to be Tot's favorite right now. And Mammaw's. I was trying to set up the computer to let Tater play checkers with her and was on the cell phone talking to her. In the background, Tater was crying, whining, and being totally obnoxious. Mammaw asks "What's that noise?". It's Tater. I need to get off the phone and handle this some more. No checkers for him...
Later, Mammaw asks me why I didn't take his computer privileges away when he acted like that. The reason he was acting like that was because I had taken them away. Like a timeout. I was going to give them back if he behaved and was trying to set it up for him. Well... the behavior didn't get better so he lost computer time with Mammaw as well.
Days like this can drive me nuts. Sigh. I still love my boys but some days it is tougher than others. ;-)

Tater Surprises Dad
Nothing like trying to trick your child for it to backfire. Yep, Dad got a surprise.
This weekend while we were driving to the second to store, Tater kept talking about all the toys he wanted. Star Wars this, star wars that, and so on. Finally Dad said that Tater would have to give up some old toys to get these news toys... and Tater said "Ok, there are some kids that don't have toys and we can give mine to them".
I love my boys!

Busy, Sorta
Was busy yesterday with the family. Was busy Saturday with the family. That's a story by itself, if I can find time to write it. Then I remembered something last night as I sat down at the computer...
The School newsletter is due on Tuesday. Uhhhhh. I'm the person who puts it all together. Not just the editor, but all the different positions except for writer (and I even do some of that). Only 500 pictures to look through and see if they are usable. I made it through about 200 last night. And look what I found:

Yep, a picture of Tot when he had his school party. I was a 'horrible' mother that didn't bring gift bags for everyone in the class. Just cookies and snacks. Tsk tsk. I still would like to know who started that stupid idea that you have to bring gifts for everyone when it is your kid's birthday. They didn't bring gifts for him. Yaaaa. It's a sore point with me. I hate that stupid idea.
Oh... I'll try to get more written up tonight if I can finish the newsletter before 10pm. ;-)
