Calling the Geeks to Answer a Question

While at Disney, I have free internet access. I am getting more hits from random people trying to tcp to me or see if I have a web service running and the like. Is there any easy way to annoy them without giving up my info? It's been 6 years since I have tried any hard core devilment and I can't drudge anything out of my mind. I have a firewall going which is what is stopping them, and of course it gives me their ip address. There ought to be something I can do to annoy them back. ;-) Any ideas?

Last Day of Star Wars Weekends

We made it to Disney just in time to be there for the last day of their Star Wars weekends. It was pretty cool. Here is who was in line with me to buy tickets:

There were troopers on the roofs of buildings and more. But we started out by going on the new Toy Story ride. The boys l.o.v.e.d. it. Luckily we got fastpasses at 10am before we got in line for the ride because the time for return was already 3pm. Phew. When we went by at 2:30pm, the 'wait' time in line was 120 minutes.

We met up with a friend of Hubby's at the Backstage lot. I couldn't resist this picture:

Then the 'Lights, Camera, Action' was starting as soon as we got done with Backstage. Off to watch the cars and motorcycles. We got out of that just in time for lunch. We had a horrible waitress. We sat in there for 1 hour and 30 minutes because for 45 minutes we never got served. It sucked.

Off to Star Tours ride. The boys had a blast. When we went in Chewbacca was signing autographs. When we came out, there was an ewok signing autographs and getting pictures with kids. Tater and I got in line, but they stopped it right before us. ugh. Disappointing.

We went to look for the Star Wars weekend only pins. Went to the Mickey Magician hat and was told to go elsewhere. There was a place in the back full of star wars stuff. The boys ended up with Darth Maul lightsabers... that's right, double sided red light sabers. Nothing in my house is going to be safe.

Headed to the grocery store, and off to the pool. Love the place we are staying at right now. Ok, gotta figure out where we are going tomorrow...

Flag Coasters!

Our craft project is done. The boys made some flag coasters. It was fun. They love painting, gluing and the like. Tot isn't particularly fond of cutting yet... but that will come in time as he does it more. ;-)

Here is the painting part:

A couple of days later, some cutting, some pasting...

Is That A Yellow Belt I see? Or just a camera with no battery...

The boys (and I) went for our yellow belt last night. I wish I was not participating because I would have loved to been in the audience. I could hear what was being said and occasionally I peaked over at what was going on with the boys. It was hilarious. Particularly when we had a point where we had to keep our eyes closed and one of the sensei's said... a thousand pushups to the one that is peaking and Tot said "Who?" ... yaa... you can guess who it probably was peaking (yep, it was Tot). Oh... and I forgot to charge the battery for the camera. Sigh.. so only a couple of pictures.

Here are some of the pictures that Hubby took of the event... first before we got started (the other boy was late due to being behind a car wreck)... Here is Tater doing a back kick...

Here is Tot

And here they are getting their yellow belts... If you look in the mirror, you can see a fat arse on the right.. that is me... ;-)

Must remember to take my asthma inhaler b.e.f.o.r.e doing something like this. I had a hard time breathing by the end. Then again, I am NOT in that good of shape. ;-)

Boys and p..p humor

While in the chiropractor's office, my boys decided to see who could burp the loudest. This was better than what I heard on the way to the office in the car. Or what I saw at breakfast with Bou earlier this week. My youngest, Tot, is learning his letters.. I asked him to write for Bou. He wrote poo poo on his placemat. Him and his brother just rolled with laughter. This whole week has been about bodily excrement. I'm tired of it. I wish I had some cute story to tell, but I just don't find farts, p..p and other items funny or cute.

We should be finished with our craft today and hopefully I will have it posted tomorrow or next week. Enjoy!

How to Create Crystals ... or not

Seems I am lacking in skills to create cool crystals. It was fun for me. The kids would come look at them and ohhhh, ahhhh... and leave. No discussion could be held because they had ZERO interest. Sigh. Maybe I'll make rock candy when we get back. That might hold their attentions for a weeee bit longer. Here is how it progressed:

Day 1:

A couple of days later:

Such is life. I had fun. ;-)

Flag Week...

Since July 4th is around the corner... I'm going to have Flag Week this week. Thanks to the crafts from Quality Weenie.. it should be easier. I forgot to get the Math worksheet done and the 'experiment' of the week. I also found THIS LINK about different things... like the National Anthem:

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Hope it goes well this week.

Trains, Trains... it is trains again

Train week has been going by smoothly. Well, it was on Monday and Tuesday... Wednesday took a nose dive. But life always bounces back... Time outs and taking away the Wii works wonders... good thing because I sooo wanted to give out spankings. Here is examples of what we did this week:

Of course Tot worked on his writing skills. Letters P, B, and R. While Tater had to write a story about trains... here is Tater's finished work:

Why was it train week? Because I had the trains the stored away since December... and I put away a bunch of toys and pulled out the trains...

Life continues...

Another Day

Seems we are a weee bit overloaded at the bug household. Car is in the shop, the boys are being totally obnoxious, too many doctor appointments. I'm going out for Breakfast if I have to walk. I need a break. Over the last 2 months I took off 6 pounds and w.a.s. keeping them off. Until the last 2 weeks. All back. Ugh. 6 on, 6 off, 6 on, 6 off. Enough to make me insane. And... the grasshoppers are back... here is a baby one:

yes, that is my door and doorbell...I was very happy it did not hop into the house. ;-)

Humor for Dreaded Wednesday

Many have seen this... but it still makes me smile! (oh ya, I'm not catholic... )

MY CATHOLIC UPBRINGING.....

As I walked down the busy footpath, knowing I was late for an important meeting, my eye fell upon one of those unfortunate, homeless vagabonds that are found in every city these days. Some people turned to stare. Others quickly looked away as if the sight would somehow contaminate them.

Recalling some long ago priest who made an admonition to 'care for the sick, feed the hungry and clothe the naked,' I was moved by some powerful inner urge to reach out to this unfortunate person.

Wearing what can only be described as rags, carrying every worldly possession in two plastic bags, my heart was touched by this persons condition.

Yes, where some people saw only rags, I saw a hidden beauty A small voice inside my head called out, 'Reach out, reach out!' Click on More to see the rest...

And I put it off until Monday to work on their assignments... ugh but getting there... here is a sample math page I made in word for today:

Needless to say, not much to post... busy with life...

Eeek, My House Has Been Taken Over By Pirates

Mamaw made the boys some pirate costumes. That lady can sew. She couldn't find pants with stripes, so she sewed on stripes. Nope, I don't have that talent. But I am v.e.r.y happy she does... take a look at this (oh, she made 3 costumes... just in case we had a friend over):

What's a pirate without a map??? We had to make maps!

And as the day progressed, we had to switch from swords to guns...

The boys had a blast. We had some friends over on Saturday and the pirate costumes were a hit then as well. In fact, have been great since we got them! Thanks Mamaw!

The template was from Lisa Minor and the elements and paper from Holly Ann

And here is what the boys made for Dad... notice they are wearing Dad's shirt. ;-)

Happy Father's Day to a great Dad.

Five little piggies? Nope, just a meme

I was tagged by Bou with a... meme.

The rules:
1. Post the rules of the game at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read the player’s blog.
4. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

What were you doing five years ago?

My life was a blur back then... I was pregnant and Tater was 11 months old. My best guess is I was changing diapers, feeding and trying to get some rest.

What are five things on your to-do list for today?

1) Go to the Chiropractor
2) Get food from the grocery store
3) Pick up medicine at CVS
4) Work with the boys on Father's day gift.
5) Possible playdate to go swimming if it doesn't rain

What are five snacks you enjoy?

1) Chocolate
2) Tostitos
3) Carrots and ranch dressing
4) Apples with salt on them
5) Bananas

What are five things you would do if you were a billionaire?

1) Invest in Retirement for hubby and myself
2) Put away college money for the boys
3) Pay off all our debts
4) Buy/Pay off cars, houses for my two siblings, my hubby's two siblings, and both sets of parents
5) Give to some charities that I like

What are five of your bad habits?

1) Not dressing nicely... shorts with holes in them and the like if it is comfortable
2) Eating when I'm not hungry (yep, that is why I'm overweight)
3) Making excuses for not exercising.
4) Doing stuff I like (working in the yard) rather than things that need to get done (laundry). Ohhh it gets done eventually... but I know better than putting it off...
5) Being to lax with my children because I hate punishing them...

What are five places where you have lived?

1) Munich, Germany
2) Arkansas
3) Illinois
4) Pensacola, Florida
5) Guam

What are five jobs you’ve had?

1) Horsebackriding instructor
2) RadioShack PC Repairman
3) Programmer
4) Network engineer
5) Mom

Wow.... who to tag???? Looks like most everyone has been tagged... and being I'm so late at getting this done... Well, I'll send some emails and see if I just missed reading the memes at their sites and if they haven't done it and want to... I'll add them to this post!!!

Here you go blogmom Bou... i got my homework done finally.

Found This 'Right On'

A friend sent me a youtube. I must say, I don't usually watch them, but I did watch these two. And laughed. Hard. Hope you enjoy them as well:

And this one was included... which at the end had me laughing as well...

Tater and Tot keep up the work

Our days are busy around here. Today is 'Science' day. Monday was Reading, Tuesday was Math and Wednesday was 'Media' (aka pc). Here is an example of what we have done this week:

First up... Tater:

I have no pictures of PC day... but here is Tot's work:

And in the evenings, when I'm not doing genealogy research or playing Indy on the Wii... I'm trying to figure out assignments for the kids. Since they are at different levels, it requires different work... my biggest problem for next week is the theme... what should the theme be??? It was snakes this week... I make crafts with the theme as well as read books... any ideas? Something simple please!

More Humor for Dreaded Wednesday

From Dazd:

An Alabama Preacher said to his congregation, "Someone in this congregation has spread a rumor that I belong to the Ku Klux Klan. This is a horrible lie and one which a Christian community can't tolerate. I am embarrassed and do not intend to accept this. Now, I want the party who did this to stand and ask forgiveness from God and this Christian Family."

No one moved. The preacher continued, "Do you have the nerve to face me and admit this is a falsehood? Remember, you will be forgiven and in your heart you will feel glory. Now stand and confess your transgression." Again all was quiet.

Then slowly, a drop-dead gorgeous blonde with a body that would stop traffic rose from the third pew. Her head was bowed and her voice quivered as she spoke, "Reverend there has been a terrible misunderstanding. I never said you were a member of the Ku Klux Klan. I simply told a couple of my friends that you were a wizard under the sheets."

The preacher fell to his knees, his wife fainted, and the congregation roared.

Oldie but goodie!

9 Things That Drive One Crazy

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2 People who are willing to get off their arse to search the entire room for the T.V.. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3 When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". D@mn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4 When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is.. Why the h3ll would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their arses!

5 When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the d@mn floor.

6 People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

8 When people say "life is short". What the h3ll?? Life is the longest d@mn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

9 When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbarse?

Indiana Jones and the Wii

Yep, I'm hooked. Instead of reading blogs, working on my kids 'school stuff' and doing genealogy research after the kids are asleep... I'm playing Indiana Jones on the Wii. Bad, bad mommy. Luckily this sort of thing is short lived with me. I like games, but am more interested in other stuff in life after a few days.

Then again, I need to keep up with the kids... right? hahahaha... more stories later.

Tater makes a PB&J

We start the morning out at 6am with Tater wanting to make his own PB&J. Eyes half open, I say sure. He gets the plastic knife, the peanut butter, the jelly (with help... dad put it on the top shelf), the bread. He can't get the twist tie off the bread complete... so mom helps. She verbally lets him know that the peanut butter goes on first so we don't get Jelly in it. Oh... the jelly is in a squeeze bottle so we don't get peanut butter in it. The only help he needed was working on the spreading of the peanut butter... I helped him turn his knife to a 45 degree angle to spread. He even cut it himself. Last week he learned about making his own bowl of cereal (mom had to move stuff down so he could reach it) and now a PB&J. Wow... as I tired as I am this morning... that boy is growing up fast.

My blogson has been busy. A new book is on the edge... You can pre-order it! Go visit his blog and THIS POST to get the details...

School Days...

are almost over. Tomorrow is the last day. I was busy making scrapbook sheets with Tink's help. And being lazy out of time, I bought the templates to help me out (from Angela Sharrow). Here is an example of what I made:

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

OPEC sells oil for $128.00 a barrel.

OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.

Solution: Sell grain for $128.00 a bushel.

Can't buy it? Tough! Eat your oil!

Then, oil will come down.

One Way to Make Pinwheels that spin

After reviewing many online items... and having gone through many gyrations of my own creations, along with my friend Z... I had gotten it down to needing some kind of buffer between the pinwheel and the stick... but it still didn't work well. Then walks in hubby. Yaa, you know where this is going. He goes, "Why don't you make the pinwheel on a straw and then put the nail through the straw?". I love him and could shoot him at the same time. By the way, that was NOT as easy as it sounded. First, a picture of the items needed to do this project:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Tape, glue, hole punch, beads, straws cut to size, paper cut to size and hole punched, mallet, round dowel, nail, clear stiff paper (I used sheet covers) and a whole lot of patience. Tater cut all the paper and punched all the holes. The clear paper was to make the 'ends' for the straws. Had to have some way to hold that pinwheel on that straw. During this I discovered that the boys love cutting straws. Any guesses? Yaa... they shoot all over the place. Did I mention my vacuum cleaner is on the fritz? Little bitty straw pieces. All over. Both boys. Ugh. But here is the best picture I got of a couple of the finished products:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Oh, that ugly tablecloth... it was $1.50 at Bed Bath and Beyond after Thanksgiving... works great for projects! But the project is NOT over yet. We have to make a sign to advertise the product. I thought Tater and I were going to be at odds over this. He kept making his e's really tiny even though the rest of the words were large. I threatened to make him write a page full of e's if he didn't cool it and fix it. OK, so I had a bad mommy moment. He was really pissing me off.

Once we got past that and he realized what I was saying about using more colors would be more fun... he got into the spirit of it. Here is Tater hard at work... and he did it all...

And my understanding is this only gets worse. Sigh... wonder what 1st grade will bring????

Oh... and I found out that the 'market' was going to happen on Wednesday. Hope the teachers have done this before and at least one item gets bought at every table! I would hate for any student not to have something bought. I know that is real life, but come on... this is the end of the year for kindergarten. Then again, I wonder what my son will be bringing home?

Tater's handwriting

If you remember from back in September... THIS POST... I showed Tater's handwriting. Well, the teacher has done wonders... take a look at something he wrote for his journal last week (click to enlarge):

Wow. Now if I can just keep him writing over the summer so he doesn't lose it. Phew... I have a big road in front of me!
