Been busy fixing a broken computer, doing chores and keeping the boys under control. Yet, I couldn't resist getting a picture of Tater... now tell me this is NOT a sign of things to come:

And I found a cool picture of fractured clavicle that was close to what we saw in Tater's xray.

Home Sweet Home

We made the drive home and the trip was pretty much a non-event. Ohhh... what happened before the drive and after the drive is enough to put anyone over the edge... but the trip itself. Not an issue.

I can feel the suspense building as you wonder what could have happened before and after but not effect the drive....

Tot came down with croup the night before we left. Tater fell out of bed that night. Tater has a fractured shoulder. Tot really does have croup and... an ear infection. Yes, life certainly has it surprises. Can't wait to go to the specialist tomorrow to see what they do for a 4 year old with a fractured shoulder.

Needless to say, pictures and posts might be a little behind the times as I handle the 'daily life'.

And if anyone has some cool New Year pictures I could use as a background, please send them!!! I need something to lighten the mood. GRIN.

Gingerbread Sprinkles

The Bug & family are at maama's house by now and I promised her that I would post these pictures for her. I just didn't say what time :).

The story goes that D was helping Tot and Bug was helping Tater build gingerbread houses for the holidays.

Sweet little tot was very diligent in building his gingerbread house. He patiently put on candy sprinkle on at a time. I personally think he has been reading the 3 Little Pigs once to often.

While I believe that Tater has taken 3 Billy Goat Gruffs to heart as he would eat the gingerbread man as soon as he had him decorated. I'm starting to wonder what my sis is teaching those boys.

Still the boys did an awesome job with their houses (though if you look carefully you can probably see Tater's half eaten man>.

Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.

1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping. I?m awful at it, but I?ll wrap it first before a bag.

2.Real tree or artificial? Artificial. The real ones cost too much.

3.When do you put up the tree? I try to put it up Thanksgiving weekend.

4.When do you take the tree down? The first weekend after Christmas that I get a chance.

5.Do you like eggnog? Been so long since I have had any, I really don?t remember.

6.Favorite gift you received as a child? Hmmmm. I honestly don?t have a good answer for this one.

7.Do you have a nativity scene? Nope. Want one though.

8.Hardest person to buy for? My husband, no doubt about it.

9.Easiest person to buy for? My kids.

10.Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail.

11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Worst? Can?t think of any I would consider bad.

12.Favorite Christmas movie? The original ?Bishop?s Wife? and ?Miracle on 34th Street?

13.When do you start shopping? Off and on all year, but most of it is done in November and December.

14.Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes. Particularly wine.

15.Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Fudge.

16.Clear lights or colored on the tree? Color. And they don?t blink. (same as Bou)

17.Favorite Christmas song? I have so many?

18.Travel at Christmas or stay home? Right now we travel. Hopefully that will stop next year.

19.Can you name all of Santa?s Reindeers? Yes. Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen!/On, Comet! on, Cupid! on Donner and Blitzen

20.Angel on the tree top or a star? Star made by the boys.

21.Open the presents on Christmas Eve or morning? When growing up we opened one on Christmas Eve and the rest in the morning. No tradition with the boys yet, but will probably do the same.

22.Most annoying thing about this time of year? How upset everyone is in the stores. Instead of being nice, they seem to get meaner.

23.Do you have Jebus in your heart this Christmas? Jebus? Who is he?

24.What would you like for Christmas? Cookies? Wow. That would be one long list? something impossible? How about more sleep?

Decorating Time

Tater and Tot asked to make cupcakes. And we did... here was the beginning... the heart shaped cake becomes a tree.

Time Is Going Too Fast

Uhhhh. I leave in 2 days to see my Mom and family. TWO. I haven't asked anyone to post for me, so it might be a little quiet on this blog for a few days. Then again, people with access might just post anyways and that's cool. Otherwise, I still have to stop the mail, the newspaper, get with a couple of neighbors, return library books, laundry, pack....

Snowflakes

This is very cool!!!! I am stealing it from Ogre.

Go to THIS LINK and on the bottom left, click on 'Find a Flake'... in the 'name' field type in VW BUG and click on search. You'll see my snow flake fall at some point. While waiting for it put your mouse over different snow flakes. You do NOT have to click on them. Just cursor over them. How awesome!!!

Humor for Dreaded Wednesday

A woman was driving down the highway about 75 miles an hour, when she
noticed a motorcycle policeman following her. Instead of slowing down,
she picked up speed.

When she looked back again, there were two motorcycles following her.
She shot up to 90 miles. The next time she looked around, there were
three cops following her.

Suddenly, she spotted a gas station looming ahead. She screeched to a
stop and ran into the ladies' room. Ten minutes later, she innocently
walked out.

The three cops were standing there waiting for her. Without batting an
eye, she said coyly, "I'll bet none of you thought I would make it."

You Can Lead A Horse To Water

but you can't make him drink... Harvey reminded me of that saying in my comments... only I would change it to:

You can put a child to sleep, but you can't keep them there.

Last night Tot woke up screaming for R2D2. Ughh. From 2am to 4am. The night before? Happy Dog was sick around 2am. Before that? My Hubby had a coughing fit, twice. Should I keep going? Tater was up for 2 nights with bad congestion... repeat the 3 nights before that for Tot. Ya....

To keep me in the holiday spirit, a friend sent me this picture:

It's amazing what people will send you... I must say, I liked this better... you need someone to remind you of common sense when you are tired:

1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

2. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings."

3. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

4. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

5. You should not confuse your career with your life.

6. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

7. Never lick a steak knife.

8. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

9. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

10. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

11. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

12. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

13. A person, who is nice to you, but rude to a waiter, is not a nice person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

14. Your friends love you anyway.

15. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

16. Thought for the day: Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes; and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

Now This is Funny

I was over at Maranda Under Stress and saw which ornament she turned out to be. I couldn't resist and gave it a shot. This is what I got:

You Are an Angel

A truly giving soul, you understand the spirit of Christmas.

It's Always a Treat

Tater actually had two performances to give. One on Thursday night were they sang Silent Night, Go Tell It On the Mountain, Joy to the World and a few others as well as a line in poem. Each child got the microphone and had to say a line. We have been working on this line for a week. He was saying it much to fast.

"So if you'd like to know the way"

Finally with Daddy's help, we got him to slow down. Dad would say it in a deep voice, then in a high squeaky voice. When Tater would try, it would cause him to slow down. It was great. He did wonderful the other night.

He also had another couple of lines to memorize. He was to be a Ram at the manger. It was very cute.

I am the Ram

With the curled horn.

I protect the stall

Where the child was born.

And who could resist this cutie:

He wasn't the only one with it on crooked. What a wonderful 3 minutes.

What I don't have is a clear picture of him when he was on stage. I have video, but not a picture. And you really need the picture to see him. He untucked his shirt. Sigh... you can dress them up, but you can't keep them that way. ;-)

Florida Morning

Woke up and it was raining this morning. When it finally got down to just a sprinkle, I tried to get the dog out and had to walk out with him. Decided to take a picture. It did not turn out as grey as it looks here. Or maybe it is just because I have had no sleep and am stressing. Either way, here is a picture taken this morning at 8am.

Tot at the Gym

Tot has been going to the gym for over a month now. One of the things he loves is the 'bar'. About 3 weeks ago the teacher showed him how to touch his toes to the bar. Of course, she helped him bend to do it. Then this week, he decided to do it himself. And I had the camera. He had no spotter, he did it himself.

And finally... success!

I have more pictures but this just amazed me and thought it should be by itself. I tried this at home on our swingset and couldn't get my feet up to the bar before I let go. This boy is strong and flexible. I'm worried!

Reply: Dear Pe-nis,

After assessing your request, and considering the arguments you have raised, the management denies your request for the following reasons:

2. You WORK IN SHORT SPURTS AND fall asleep after EACH brief work period.
3. You do not always follow the orders of the management team.

My mom sent me this one:

Why Rednecks Can't Be Paramedics

A couple of rednecks are out in the woods hunting when one of them grabs his chest and falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing; his eyes are rolled back in his head.

The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls 911. He gasps to the operator, "I think Bubba's dead from one of them there Heart Attacks! What should Ah do?"

The operator, in a calm soothing voice says, "Just take it easy and follow my instructions. First, you've got to make sure he's dead."

There is a silence...and then a gun shot is heard.

The guy's voice comes back on the line, "Okay, now whut?"

A New Family Member

Hmmm. I'm not even going to try and figure out this relationship. But I have a new... blog family member. It is soooo exciting. I loved reading the stuff he left at Mrs. Who's place. Now I can go read it at his own. Please take a peak. I had written all sorts of cool stuff about him yesterday but nothing did justice to this opinionated, humourous, and intelligent man. Go check it out for yourself.

Be sure to click that little word 'more' at the bottom to see the rest of his story... and leave a comment!

Christmas Lites in Florida

Looking at the pictures lately around the blog-o-sphere... I have noticed a lot of snow. Lots of snow. Just to give you that warm fuzzy feeling, here are some pictures from Florida. Notice the green grass in this picture:

= = = =

Green grass and lots of lights.

= = = =

And some acting up had to go along....

= = = = =

And you are not imagining it... this is santa and deer flying over the house. Really... I would like to know how they got that on the roof... or how much power it takes to run it. Very fun for the kids to see it go round and round... disappear behind and reappear.

And what is Christmas without Palm Trees (though I should have gotten some of the live Palm Trees that people decorated)...

What about Dolphins?

Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy the Holiday season. It was great walking and driving around with the kids seeing lights.
